Selected Verses from the Quran-1st Chapter

And your Lord is one Allah. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. -- ‌[2:163]

আর তোমাদের উপাস্য একইমাত্র উপাস্য। তিনি ছাড়া মহা করুণাময় দয়ালু কেউ নেই। -- ‌[2:163]

And decree for us in this world [that which is] good and [also] in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned back to You." [Allah] said, "My punishment - I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses - -- ‌[7:156]

আর পৃথিবীতে এবং আখেরাতে আমাদের জন্য কল্যাণ লিখে দাও। আমরা তোমার দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করছি। আল্লাহ তা’আলা বললেন, আমার আযাব তারই উপর পরিব্যাপ্ত। সুতরাং তা তাদের জন্য লিখে দেব যারা ভয় রাখে, যাকাত দান করে এবং যারা আমার আয়তসমুহের উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে। -- ‌[7:156]

So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent. -- ‌[30:50]

অতএব, আল্লাহর রহমতের ফল দেখে নাও, কিভাবে তিনি মৃত্তিকার মৃত্যুর পর তাকে জীবিত করেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি মৃতদেরকে জীবিত করবেন এবং তিনি সব কিছুর উপর সর্বশক্তিমান। -- ‌[30:50]

And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion. -- ‌[25:60]

তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, দয়াময়কে সেজদা কর, তখন তারা বলে, দয়াময় আবার কে? তুমি কাউকে সেজদা করার আদেশ করলেই কি আমরা সেজদা করব? এতে তাদের পলায়নপরতাই বৃদ্ধি পায়। -- ‌[25:60]

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. -- ‌[2:255]

আল্লাহ ছাড়া অন্য কোন উপাস্য নেই, তিনি জীবিত, সবকিছুর ধারক। তাঁকে তন্দ্রাও স্পর্শ করতে পারে না এবং নিদ্রাও নয়। আসমান ও যমীনে যা কিছু রয়েছে, সবই তাঁর। কে আছ এমন, যে সুপারিশ করবে তাঁর কাছে তাঁর অনুমতি ছাড়া? দৃষ্টির সামনে কিংবা পিছনে যা কিছু রয়েছে সে সবই তিনি জানেন। তাঁর জ্ঞানসীমা থেকে তারা কোন কিছুকেই পরিবেষ্টিত করতে পারে না, কিন্তু যতটুকু তিনি ইচ্ছা করেন। তাঁর সিংহাসন সমস্ত আসমান ও যমীনকে পরিবেষ্টিত করে আছে। আর সেগুলোকে ধারণ করা তাঁর পক্ষে কঠিন নয়। তিনিই সর্বোচ্চ এবং সর্বাপেক্ষা মহান। -- ‌[2:255]

He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. -- ‌[59:22]

তিনিই আল্লাহ তা’আলা, তিনি ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই; তিনি দৃশ্য ও অদৃশ্যকে জানেন তিনি পরম দয়ালু, অসীম দাতা। -- ‌[59:22]

He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. -- ‌[59:23]

তিনিই আল্লাহ তিনি ব্যতিত কোন উপাস্য নেই। তিনিই একমাত্র মালিক, পবিত্র, শান্তি ও নিরাপত্তাদাতা, আশ্রয়দাতা, পরাক্রান্ত, প্রতাপান্বিত, মাহাত্ন?486;ীল। তারা যাকে অংশীদার করে আল্লাহ তা’ আলা তা থেকে পবিত্র। -- ‌[59:23]

He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. -- ‌[59:24]

তিনিই আল্লাহ তা’আলা, স্রষ্টা, উদ্ভাবক, রূপদাতা, উত্তম নাম সমূহ তাঁরই। নভোমন্ডলে ও ভূমন্ডলে যা কিছু আছে, সবই তাঁর পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করে। তিনি পরাক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাময়। -- ‌[59:24]

Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, -- ‌[112:1]

বলুন, তিনি আল্লাহ, এক, -- ‌[112:1]

Allah, the Eternal Refuge. -- ‌[112:2]

আল্লাহ অমুখাপেক্ষী, -- ‌[112:2]

He neither begets nor is born, -- ‌[112:3]

তিনি কাউকে জন্ম দেননি এবং কেউ তাকে জন্ম দেয়নি -- ‌[112:3]

Nor is there to Him any equivalent." -- ‌[112:4]

এবং তার সমতুল্য কেউ নেই। -- ‌[112:4]

Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your Allah is one Allah. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." -- ‌[18:110]

বলুনঃ আমি ও তোমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ, আমার প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ হয় যে, তোমাদের ইলাহই একমাত্র ইলাহ। অতএব, যে ব্যক্তি তার পালনকর্তার সাক্ষাত কামনা করে, সে যেন, সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন করে এবং তার পালনকর্তার এবাদতে কাউকে শরীক না করে। -- ‌[18:110]

Had there been within the heavens and earth Allahs besides Allah, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe. -- ‌[21:22]

যদি নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলে আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য উপাস্য থাকত, তবে উভয়ের ধ্বংস হয়ে যেত। অতএব তারা যা বলে, তা থেকে আরশের অধিপতি আল্লাহ পবিত্র। -- ‌[21:22]

And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a Allah besides Him"- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers. -- ‌[21:29]

তাদের মধ্যে যে বলে যে, তিনি ব্যতীত আমিই উপাস্য, তাকে আমি জাহান্নামের শাস্তি দেব। আমি জালেমদেরকে এভাবেই প্রতিফল দিয়ে থাকি। -- ‌[21:29]

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. -- ‌[17:23]

তোমার পালনকর্তা আদেশ করেছেন যে, তাঁকে ছাড়া অন্য কারও এবাদত করো না এবং পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদ্ব-ব্যবহার কর। তাদের মধ্যে কেউ অথবা উভয়েই যদি তোমার জীবদ্দশায় বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হয়; তবে তাদেরকে ‘উহ’ শব্দটিও বলো না এবং তাদেরকে ধমক দিও না এবং বল তাদেরকে শিষ্ঠাচারপূর্ণ কথা। -- ‌[17:23]

And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me." -- ‌[21:25]

আপনার পূর্বে আমি যে রাসূলই প্রেরণ করেছি, তাকে এ আদেশই প্রেরণ করেছি যে, আমি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন উপাস্য নেই। সুতরাং আমারই এবাদত কর। -- ‌[21:25]

And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware. -- ‌[46:5]

যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন বস্তুর পূজা করে, যে কেয়ামত পর্যন্তও তার ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না, তার চেয়ে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট আর কে? তারা তো তাদের পুজা সম্পর্কেও বেখবর। -- ‌[46:5]

And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship. -- ‌[46:6]

যখন মানুষকে হাশরে একত্রিত করা হবে, তখন তারা তাদের শত্রু হবে এবং তাদের এবাদত অস্বীকার করবে। -- ‌[46:6]

And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created. -- ‌[16:20]

এবং যারা আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে অন্যদের ডাকে, ওরা তো কোন বস্তুই সৃষ্টি করে না; বরং ওরা নিজেরাই সৃজিত। -- ‌[16:20]

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned. -- ‌[28:88]

আপনি আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য উপাস্যকে আহবান করবেন না। তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন উপাস্য নেই। আল্লাহর সত্তা ব্যতীত সবকিছু ধবংস হবে। বিধান তাঁরই এবং তোমরা তাঁরই কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে। -- ‌[28:88]

Say, "Invoke those you have claimed [as Allahs] besides Him, for they do not possess the [ability for] removal of adversity from you or [for its] transfer [to someone else]." -- ‌[17:56]

বলুনঃ আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদেরকে তোমরা উপাস্য মনে কর, তাদেরকে আহবান কর। অথচ ওরা তো তোমাদের কষ্ট দুর করার ক্ষমতা রাখে না এবং তা পরিবর্তনও করতে পারে না। -- ‌[17:56]

Those whom they invoke seek means of access to their Lord, [striving as to] which of them would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment. Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is ever feared. -- ‌[17:57]

যাদেরকে তারা আহবান করে, তারা নিজেরাই তো তাদের পালনকর্তার নৈকট্য লাভের জন্য মধ্যস্থ তালাশ করে যে, তাদের মধ্যে কে নৈকট্যশীল। তারা তাঁর রহমতের আশা করে এবং তাঁর শাস্তিকে ভয় করে। নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তার শাস্তি ভয়াবহ। -- ‌[17:57]

And of the people is he who worships Allah on an edge. If he is touched by good, he is reassured by it; but if he is struck by trial, he turns on his face [to the other direction]. He has lost [this] world and the Hereafter. That is what is the manifest loss. -- ‌[22:11]

মানুষের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ দ্বিধা-দ্বন্দ্বে জড়িত হয়ে আল্লাহর এবাদত করে। যদি সে কল্যাণ প্রাপ্ত হয়, তবে এবাদতের উপর কায়েম থাকে এবং যদি কোন পরীক্ষায় পড়ে, তবে পূর্বাবস্থায় ফিরে যায়। সে ইহকালে ও পরকালে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। এটাই প্রকাশ্য ক্ষতি -- ‌[22:11]

He invokes instead of Allah that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error. -- ‌[22:12]

সে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন কিছুকে ডাকে, যে তার অপকার করতে পারে না এবং উপকারও করতে পারে না। এটাই চরম পথভ্রষ্টতা। -- ‌[22:12]

He invokes one whose harm is closer than his benefit - how wretched the protector and how wretched the associate. -- ‌[22:13]

সে এমন কিছুকে ডাকে, যার অপকার উপকারের আগে পৌছে। কত মন্দ এই বন্ধু এবং কত মন্দ এই সঙ্গী। -- ‌[22:13]

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness? -- ‌[41:53]

এখন আমি তাদেরকে আমার নিদর্শনাবলী প্রদর্শন করাব পৃথিবীর দিগন্তে এবং তাদের নিজেদের মধ্যে; ফলে তাদের কাছে ফুটে উঠবে যে, এ কোরআন সত্য। আপনার পালনকর্তা সর্ববিষয়ে সাক্ষ্যদাতা, এটা কি যথেষ্ট নয়? -- ‌[41:53]

And of His signs is that He created you from dust; then, suddenly you were human beings dispersing [throughout the earth]. -- ‌[30:20]

তাঁর নিদর্শনাবলীর মধ্যে এক নিদর্শন এই যে, তিনি মৃত্তিকা থেকে তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছেন। এখন তোমরা মানুষ, পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে আছ। -- ‌[30:20]

O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded? -- ‌[35:3]

হে মানুষ, তোমাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ স্মরণ কর। আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এমন কোন স্রষ্টা আছে কি, যে তোমাদেরকে আসমান ও যমীন থেকে রিযিক দান করে? তিনি ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই। অতএব তোমরা কোথায় ফিরে যাচ্ছ? -- ‌[35:3]

And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful. -- ‌[14:34]

যে সকল বস্তু তোমরা চেয়েছ, তার প্রত্যেকটি থেকেই তিনি তোমাদেরকে দিয়েছেন। যদি আল্লাহর নেয়ামত গণনা কর, তবে গুণে শেষ করতে পারবে না। নিশ্চয় মানুষ অত্যন্ত অন্যায়কারী, অকৃতজ্ঞ। -- ‌[14:34]

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him]. -- ‌[31:20]

তোমরা কি দেখ না আল্লাহ নভোমন্ডল ও ভূ-মন্ডলে যাকিছু আছে, সবই তোমাদের কাজে নিয়োজিত করে দিয়েছেন এবং তোমাদের প্রতি তাঁর প্রকাশ্য ও অপ্রকাশ্য নেয়ামতসমূহ পরিপূর্ন করে দিয়েছেন? এমন লোক ও আছে; যারা জ্ঞান, পথনির্দেশ ও উজ্জল কিতাব ছাড়াই আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে বাকবিতন্ডা করে। -- ‌[31:20]

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned. -- ‌[2:28]

কেমন করে তোমরা আল্লাহর ব্যাপারে কুফরী অবলম্বন করছ? অথচ তোমরা ছিলে নিষ্প্রাণ। অতঃপর তিনিই তোমাদেরকে প্রাণ দান করেছেন, আবার মৃত্যু দান করবেন। পুনরায় তোমাদেরকে জীবনদান করবেন। অতঃপর তারই প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে। -- ‌[2:28]

It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things. -- ‌[2:29]

তিনিই সে সত্ত্বা যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন তোমাদের জন্য যা কিছু জমীনে রয়েছে সে সমস্ত। তারপর তিনি মনোসংযোগ করেছেন আকাশের প্রতি। বস্তুতঃ তিনি তৈরী করেছেন সাত আসমান। আর আল্লাহ সর্ববিষয়ে অবহিত। -- ‌[2:29]

Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. -- ‌[80:17]

মানুষ ধ্বংস হোক, সে কত অকৃতজ্ঞ! -- ‌[80:17]

From what substance did He create him? -- ‌[80:18]

তিনি তাকে কি বস্তু থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন? -- ‌[80:18]

From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; -- ‌[80:19]

শুক্র থেকে তাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর তাকে সুপরিমিত করেছেন। -- ‌[80:19]

Then He eased the way for him; -- ‌[80:20]

অতঃপর তার পথ সহজ করেছেন, -- ‌[80:20]

O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, -- ‌[82:6]

হে মানুষ, কিসে তোমাকে তোমার মহামহিম পালনকর্তা সম্পর্কে বিভ্রান্ত করল? -- ‌[82:6]

Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? -- ‌[82:7]

যিনি তোমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর তোমাকে সুবিন্যস্ত করেছেন এবং সুষম করেছেন। -- ‌[82:7]

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. -- ‌[82:8]

যিনি তোমাকে তাঁর ইচ্ছামত আকৃতিতে গঠন করেছেন। -- ‌[82:8]
