2nd Chapter

[He Allah] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - -- ‌[67:2]

যিনি(আল্লাহ) সৃষ্টি করেছেন মরণ ও জীবন, যাতে তোমাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করেন-কে তোমাদের মধ্যে কর্মে শ্রেষ্ঠ? তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, ক্ষমাময়। -- ‌[67:2]

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? -- ‌[67:3]

তিনি(আল্লাহ) সপ্ত আকাশ স্তরে স্তরে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তুমি করুণাময় আল্লাহ তা’আলার সৃষ্টিতে কোন তফাত দেখতে পাবে না। আবার দৃষ্টিফেরাও; কোন ফাটল দেখতে পাও কি? -- ‌[67:3]

Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy. -- ‌[29:19]

তারা কি দেখে না যে, আল্লাহ কিভাবে সৃষ্টিকর্ম শুরু করেন অতঃপর তাকে পুনরায় সৃষ্টি করবেন? এটা আল্লাহর জন্যে সহজ। -- ‌[29:19]

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason. -- ‌[2:164]

নিশ্চয়ই আসমান ও যমীনের সৃষ্টিতে, রাত ও দিনের বিবর্তনে এবং নদীতে নৌকাসমূহের চলাচলে মানুষের জন্য কল্যাণ রয়েছে। আর আল্লাহ তা’আলা আকাশ থেকে যে পানি নাযিল করেছেন, তদ্দ্বারা মৃত যমীনকে সজীব করে তুলেছেন এবং তাতে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন সবরকম জীব-জন্তু। আর আবহাওয়া পরিবর্তনে এবং মেঘমালার যা তাঁরই হুকুমের অধীনে আসমান ও যমীনের মাঝে বিচরণ করে, নিশ্চয়ই সে সমস্ত বিষয়ের মাঝে নিদর্শন রয়েছে বুদ্ধিমান সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে। -- ‌[2:164]

And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, therefrom, are turning away. -- ‌[12:105]

অনেক নিদর্শন রয়েছে নভোমন্ডলে ও ভু-মন্ডলে যেগুলোর উপর দিয়ে তারা পথ অতিক্রম করে এবং তারা এসবের দিকে মনোনিবেশ করে না। -- ‌[12:105]

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? -- ‌[52:35]

তারা কি আপনা-আপনিই সৃজিত হয়ে গেছে, না তারা নিজেরাই স্রষ্টা? 

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. -- ‌[52:36]

না তারা নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডল সৃষ্টি করেছে? বরং তারা বিশ্বাস করে না।

Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. -- ‌[76:2]

আমি(আল্লাহ) মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছি মিশ্র শুক্রবিন্দু থেকে, এভাবে যে, তাকে পরীক্ষা করব অতঃপর তাকে করে দিয়েছি শ্রবণ ও দৃষ্টিশক্তিসম্পন্ন। -- ‌[76:2]

O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer. -- ‌[4:1]

হে মানব সমাজ! তোমরা তোমাদের পালনকর্তাকে ভয় কর, যিনি(আল্লাহ) তোমাদেরকে এক ব্যক্তি থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং যিনি তার থেকে তার সঙ্গীনীকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন; আর বিস্তার করেছেন তাদের দু’জন থেকে অগণিত পুরুষ ও নারী। আর আল্লাহকে ভয় কর, যাঁর নামে তোমরা একে অপরের নিকট যাচঞ্ঝা করে থাক এবং আত্নীয় জ্ঞাতিদের ব্যাপারে সতর্কতা অবলম্বন কর। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তোমাদের ব্যাপারে সচেতন রয়েছেন। -- ‌[4:1]

And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference. -- ‌[17:70]

নিশ্চয় আমি(আল্লাহ) আদম সন্তানকে মর্যাদা দান করেছি, আমি তাদেরকে স্থলে ও জলে চলাচলের বাহন দান করেছি; তাদেরকে উত্তম জীবনোপকরণ প্রদান করেছি এবং তাদেরকে অনেক সৃষ্ট বস্তুর উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছি। -- ‌[17:70]

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein -- ‌[50:16]

আমি(আল্লাহ) মানুষ সৃষ্টি করেছি এবং তার মন নিভৃতে যে কুচিন্তা করে, সে সম্বন্ধেও আমি অবগত আছি। আমি তার গ্রীবাস্থিত ধমনী থেকেও অধিক নিকটবর্তী। -- ‌[50:16]

Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. -- ‌[24:45]

আল্লাহ প্রত্যেক চলন্ত জীবকে পানি দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তাদের কতক বুকে ভয় দিয়ে চলে, কতক দুই পায়ে ভর দিয়ে চলে এবং কতক চার পায়ে ভর দিয়ে চলে; আল্লাহ যা ইচ্ছা সৃষ্টি করেন। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ সবকিছু করতে সক্ষম। -- ‌[24:45]

Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. -- ‌[36:36]

পবিত্র তিনি যিনি(আল্লাহ) যমীন থেকে উৎপন্ন উদ্ভিদকে, তাদেরই মানুষকে এবং যা তারা জানে না, তার প্রত্যেককে জোড়া জোড়া করে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। -- ‌[36:36]

We have created you, so why do you not believe? -- ‌[56:57]

আমি(আল্লাহ) সৃষ্টি করেছি তোমাদেরকে। অতঃপর কেন তোমরা তা সত্য বলে বিশ্বাস কর না।

Have you seen that which you emit? -- ‌[56:58]

তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছ, তোমাদের বীর্যপাত সম্পর্কে।

Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? -- ‌[56:59]

তোমরা তাকে সৃষ্টি কর, না আমি সৃষ্টি করি?

We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone -- ‌[56:60]

আমি তোমাদের মৃত্যুকাল নির্ধারিত করেছি এবং আমি অক্ষম নই।

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. -- ‌[56:61]

এ ব্যাপারে যে, তোমাদের পরিবর্তে তোমাদের মত লোককে নিয়ে আসি এবং তোমাদেরকে এমন করে দেই, যা তোমরা জান না।

And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? -- ‌[56:62]

তোমরা অবগত হয়েছ প্রথম সৃষ্টি সম্পর্কে, তবে তোমরা অনুধাবন কর না কেন?

And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? -- ‌[56:63]

তোমরা যে বীজ বপন কর, সে সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ কি?

Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? -- ‌[56:64]

তোমরা তাকে উৎপন্ন কর, না আমি উৎপন্নকারী ?

If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, -- ‌[56:65]

আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তাকে খড়কুটা করে দিতে পারি, অতঃপর হয়ে যাবে তোমরা বিস্ময়াবিষ্ট।

[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; -- ‌[56:66]

বলবেঃ আমরা তো ঋণের চাপে পড়ে গেলাম; 

Rather, we have been deprived." -- ‌[56:67]

বরং আমরা হূত সর্বস্ব হয়ে পড়লাম। 

And have you seen the water that you drink? -- ‌[56:68]

তোমরা যে পানি পান কর, সে সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ কি?

Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? -- ‌[56:69]

তোমরা তা মেঘ থেকে নামিয়ে আন, না আমি বর্ষন করি?

If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? -- ‌[56:70]

আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তাকে লোনা করে দিতে পারি, অতঃপর তোমরা কেন কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর না? -- ‌[56:70]

Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms]. -- ‌[4:163]

আমি আপনার প্রতি ওহী পাঠিয়েছি, যেমন করে ওহী পাঠিয়েছিলাম নূহের প্রতি এবং সে সমস্ত নবী-রসূলের প্রতি যাঁরা তাঁর পরে প্রেরিত হয়েছেন। আর ওহী পাঠিয়েছি, ইসমাঈল, ইব্রাহীম, ইসহাক, ইয়াকুব, ও তাঁর সন্তাবর্গের প্রতি এবং ঈসা, আইয়ুব, ইউনূস, হারুন ও সুলায়মানের প্রতি। আর আমি দাউদকে দান করেছি যবুর গ্রন্থ। -- ‌

And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech. -- ‌[4:164]

এছাড়া এমন রসূল পাঠিয়েছি যাদের ইতিবৃত্ত আমি আপনাকে শুনিয়েছি ইতিপূর্বে এবং এমন রসূল পাঠিয়েছি যাদের বৃত্তান্ত আপনাকে শোনাইনি। আর আল্লাহ মূসার সাথে কথোপকথন করেছেন সরাসরি। --

[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. -- ‌[4:165]

সুসংবাদদাতা ও ভীতি-প্রদর্শনকারী রসূলগণকে প্রেরণ করেছি, যাতে রসূলগণের পরে আল্লাহর প্রতি অপবাদ আরোপ করার মত কোন অবকাশ মানুষের জন্য না থাকে। আল্লাহ প্রবল পরাক্রমশীল, প্রাজ্ঞ। -- ‌

And We gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good. -- ‌[6:84]

আমি তাঁকে দান করেছি ইসহাক এবং এয়াকুব। প্রত্যেককেই আমি পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি এবং পূর্বে আমি নূহকে পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি-তাঁর সন্তানদের মধ্যে দাউদ, সোলায়মান, আইউব, ইউসুফ, মূসা ও হারুনকে। এমনিভাবে আমি সৎকর্মীদেরকে প্রতিদান দিয়ে থাকি। -- ‌

And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous. -- ‌[6:85]

আর ও যাকারিয়া, ইয়াহিয়া, ঈসা এবং ইলিয়াসকে। তারা সবাই পুণ্যবানদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল। -- ‌

And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds. -- ‌[6:86]

এবং ইসমাঈল, ইয়াসা, ইউনূস, লূতকে প্রত্যেককেই আমি সারা বিশ্বের উপর গৌরবাম্বিত করেছি। --

And [some] among their fathers and their descendants and their brothers - and We chose them and We guided them to a straight path. -- ‌[6:87]

আর ও তাদের কিছু সংখ্যক পিতৃপুরুষ, সন্তান-সন্ততি ও ভ্রাতাদেরকে; আমি তাদেরকে মনোনীত করেছি এবং সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি। -- ‌

That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing. -- ‌[6:88]

এটি আল্লাহর হেদায়েত। স্বীয় বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাকে ইচ্ছা, এপথে চালান। যদি তারা শেরেকী করত, তবে তাদের কাজ কর্ম তাদের জন্যে ব্যর্থ হয়ে যেত। -- ‌

Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture and authority and prophet hood. But if the disbelievers deny it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not therein disbelievers. -- ‌[6:89]

তাদেরকেই আমি গ্রন্থ, শরীয়ত ও নবুয়ত দান করেছি। অতএব, যদি এরা আপনার নবুয়ত অস্বীকার করে, তবে এর জন্যে এমন সম্প্রদায় নির্দিষ্ট করেছি, যারা এতে অবিশ্বাসী হবে না। --

And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged -- ‌[10:47]

আর প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের একেকজন রসূল রয়েছে। যখন তাদের কাছে তাদের রসূল ন্যায়দন্ডসহ উপস্থিত হল, তখন আর তাদের উপর জুলুম হয় না। -- ‌

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers. -- ‌[16:36]

আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যেই রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি এই মর্মে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর এবাদত কর এবং তাগুত থেকে নিরাপদ থাক। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সংখ্যককে আল্লাহ হেদায়েত করেছেন এবং কিছু সংখ্যকের জন্যে বিপথগামিতা অবধারিত হয়ে গেল। সুতরাং তোমরা পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ মিথ্যারোপকারীদের কিরূপ পরিণতি হয়েছে। --

 He [Angel Gabriel] said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy." -- ‌[19:19]

সে(ফেরেশতা জিব্রাইল) বললঃ আমি তো শুধু তোমার পালনকর্তা প্রেরিত, যাতে তোমাকে এক পবিত্র পুত্র দান করে যাব। --

She (Mary) said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" -- ‌[19:20]

মরিইয়াম বললঃ কিরূপে আমার পুত্র হবে, যখন কোন মানব আমাকে স্পর্শ করেনি এবং আমি ব্যভিচারিণীও কখনও ছিলাম না ? -- ‌

He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' " -- ‌[19:21]

সে বললঃ এমনিতেই হবে। তোমার পালনকর্তা বলেছেন, এটা আমার জন্যে সহজ সাধ্য এবং আমি তাকে মানুষের জন্যে একটি নিদর্শন ও আমার পক্ষ থেকে অনুগ্রহ স্বরূপ করতে চাই। এটা তো এক স্থিরীকৃত ব্যাপার। -- ‌

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was. -- ‌[3:59]

নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহর নিকট ঈসার দৃষ্টান্ত হচ্ছে আদমেরই মতো। তাকে মাটি দিয়ে তৈরী করেছিলেন এবং তারপর তাকে বলেছিলেন হয়ে যাও, সঙ্গে সঙ্গে হয়ে গেলেন। -- ‌

The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. -- ‌[5:75]

মরিয়ম-তনয় মসীহ রসূল ছাড়া আর কিছু নন। তাঁর পূর্বে অনেক রসূল অতিক্রান্ত হয়েছেন আর তার জননী একজন ওলী। তাঁরা উভয়েই খাদ্য ভক্ষণ করতেন। দেখুন, আমি তাদের জন্যে কিরূপ যুক্তি-প্রমাণ বর্ননা করি, আবার দেখুন, তারা উল্টা কোন দিকে যাচেছ। -- ‌

O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. -- ‌[4:171]

হে আহলে-কিতাবগণ! তোমরা দ্বীনের ব্যাপারে বাড়াবাড়ি করো না এবং আল্লাহর শানে নিতান্ত সঙ্গত বিষয় ছাড়া কোন কথা বলো না। নিঃসন্দেহে মরিয়ম পুত্র মসীহ ঈসা আল্লাহর রসূল এবং তাঁর বাণী যা তিনি প্রেরণ করেছেন মরিয়মের নিকট এবং রূহ-তাঁরই কাছ থেকে আগত। অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে এবং তার রসূলগণকে মান্য কর। আর একথা বলো না যে, আল্লাহ তিনের এক, একথা পরিহার কর; তোমাদের মঙ্গল হবে। নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ একক উপাস্য। সন্তান-সন্ততি হওয়াটা তাঁর যোগ্য বিষয় নয়। যা কিছু আসমান সমূহ ও যমীনে রয়েছে সবই তার। আর কর্মবিধানে আল্লাহই যথেষ্ট। -- ‌[4:171]

It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied." -- ‌[3:79]

কোন মানুষকে আল্লাহ কিতাব, হেকমত ও নবুওয়ত দান করার পর সে বলবে যে, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহকে পরিহার করে আমার বান্দা হয়ে যাও’-এটা সম্ভব নয়। বরং তারা বলবে, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহওয়ালা হয়ে যাও, যেমন, তোমরা কিতাব শিখাতে এবং যেমন তোমরা নিজেরা ও পড়তে। -- ‌[3:79]

And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. -- ‌[4:157]

আর তাদের একথা বলার কারণে যে, আমরা মরিয়ম পুত্র ঈসা মসীহকে হত্যা করেছি যিনি ছিলেন আল্লাহর রসূল। অথচ তারা না তাঁকে হত্যা করেছে, আর না শুলীতে চড়িয়েছে, বরং তারা এরূপ ধাঁধায় পতিত হয়েছিল। বস্তুতঃ তারা এ ব্যাপারে নানা রকম কথা বলে, তারা এক্ষেত্রে সন্দেহের মাঝে পড়ে আছে, শুধুমাত্র অনুমান করা ছাড়া তারা এ বিষয়ে কোন খবরই রাখে না। আর নিশ্চয়ই তাঁকে তারা হত্যা করেনি। -- ‌

Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. -- ‌[4:158]

বরং তাঁকে উঠিয়ে নিয়েছেন আল্লাহ তা’আলা নিজের কাছে। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন মহাপরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়। --

And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. -- ‌[5:116]

যখন আল্লাহ বললেনঃ হে ঈসা ইবনে মরিয়ম! তুমি কি লোকদেরকে বলে দিয়েছিলে যে, আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে আমাকে ও আমার মাতাকে উপাস্য সাব্যস্ত কর? ঈসা বলবেন; আপনি পবিত্র! আমার জন্যে শোভা পায় না যে, আমি এমন কথা বলি, যা বলার কোন অধিকার আমার নেই। যদি আমি বলে থাকি, তবে আপনি অবশ্যই পরিজ্ঞাত; আপনি তো আমার মনের কথা ও জানেন এবং আমি জানি না যা আপনার মনে আছে। নিশ্চয় আপনিই অদৃশ্য বিষয়ে জ্ঞাত। --

I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. -- ‌[5:117]

আমি তো তাদেরকে কিছুই বলিনি, শুধু সে কথাই বলেছি যা আপনি বলতে আদেশ করেছিলেন যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর দাসত্ব অবলম্বন কর যিনি আমার ও তোমাদের পালনকর্তা আমি তাদের সম্পর্কে অবগত ছিলাম যতদিন তাদের মধ্যে ছিলাম। অতঃপর যখন আপনি আমাকে লোকান্তরিত করলেন, তখন থেকে আপনিই তাদের সম্পর্কে অবগত রয়েছেন। আপনি সর্ববিষয়ে পূর্ণ পরিজ্ঞাত। -- ‌

If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. -- ‌[5:118]

যদি আপনি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দেন, তবে তারা আপনার দাস এবং যদি আপনি তাদেরকে ক্ষমা করেন, তবে আপনিই পরাক্রান্ত, মহাবিজ্ঞ। -- ‌
